| During the project
period of 3 years, 6 tasks will lead to the design of the new
European Aquaculture Centre of Technology (ACT).
The design study will run in 3
phases:
- preparation stage (tasks 1, 3)
- evaluation stage (task 2)
- infrastructure planning stage (tasks 4, 5, 6)
The 6
different tasks will lead to the
design of a new infrastructure upon finalisation of the project:
1. Inquiry of needs and opportunities: establishment of an
inventory of related infrastructure and knowledge gaps in
aquaculture technology
2. Content specification: drafting a sketch of the new
infrastructure, including preliminary cost calculations

3.
Environmental survey: finding the most suitable location for the
new infrastructure and anticipating its impact on the adjacent
marine environment
4. Management and operation plan: description of structure
and ownership of the centre and of organisational issues needed
to guarantee an optimum functionality.
5. Financial plan: cost study linked to the construction of the
centre and its operation
6. Construction plan: detailed drawings of the European ACT and
a description of a development strategy |
